The Numbers Tell the Story. The Record Seals It. 705 Laws and Resolutions. 2,979 Votes. One Record That Delivers.

In public service, promises are easy. Records are rare.
So here’s mine:
During my eight years as President of New Castle County Council leading the second largest legislative body in Delaware, I oversaw 2,979 pieces of legislation — ordinances and resolutions that shaped how our county grew, responded to crisis, funded vital services, and protected everyday people.
Of those, I was the prime sponsor of 293 — meaning I researched, drafted, introduced, and led the charge. I co-sponsored another 412, working with fellow Councilmembers to get critical legislation across the finish line.
That’s 705 total pieces of legislation I fought for and passed.
Let me be clear: These weren’t just titles. They were laws and resolutions. They addressed real needs — from youth employment to housing stability, from public safety to economic development, from fiscal policy to public health.
And I cast over 2,900 yes votes — each one a decision backed by principle, policy, and purpose.
But numbers alone don’t matter unless they’re backed by values.
I chaired the Council meetings for eight years — building the agenda, leading the debate, listening to the public, and guiding the process. I worked across differences, stayed focused on solutions, and never once voted to raise taxes — even while overseeing more than $3 billion in county budgets and helping direct $430 million in emergency federal COVID funds.
I didn’t do it for headlines. I did it because when you hold public trust, you honor it with action.
Now I’m bringing that same standard to the Brandywine School Board.
Because we don’t just need more meetings. We need more outcomes. We don’t just need more talk. We need more truth. And we don’t just need someone who cares about kids — we need someone who can fight for them and win.
I’ve done it before. For the largest county in Delaware. And I’ll do it again — for our schools, our students, and our future.
May 13 — Vote Karen Hartley-Nagle for Brandywine School Board.
Because in the end, the numbers don’t lie. And neither do results.
